Macroeconomics

1. [US Tariffs] On July 21 (local time), US President Trump announced via social media that all generic drugs imported into the US would continue to be subject to zero tariffs for the next two years, starting August 1, 2026. Upon the expiration of this two-year period, these products will face a 100% tariff for one year; subsequently, the tariff rate will rise to 200%.

2. [South Korea Exports] South Korea Customs Service: From July 1 to July 20, South Korea's export value reached $54.933 billion, a year-on-year increase of 52.3%—setting a record high for the first 20 days of July. Notably, semiconductor exports surged 180.6% year-on-year to $22.113 billion, accounting for 40.3% of total exports, compared to 21.9% during the same period last year.

Building Materials

1. [Kraft Linerboard] Effective July 22, 2026, at Nine Dragons Paper’s Hubei base, prices for "Nine Dragons Premium V" Kraft Linerboard, "Dilong Premium V" Kraft Linerboard, and "Dilong" Kraft Linerboard (grammage above 120g) will increase by RMB 50/tonne; prices for "Dilong" Kraft Linerboard (grammage of 120g and below) and recycled Kraft Linerboard will increase by RMB 80/tonne.

Effective July 23, 2026, at Nine Dragons Paper’s Beihai base, prices for "Nine Dragons Premium V" Kraft Linerboard, "Hailong Premium V" Kraft Linerboard, and "Dilong Premium V" Kraft Linerboard will increase by RMB 50/tonne (USD 7/tonne).

Effective July 23, 2026, at Nine Dragons Paper’s Dongguan base, prices for "Nine Dragons Premium V" Kraft Linerboard, "Nine Dragons Kraft Linerboard (Special)," "Nine Dragons Kraft Linerboard," "Hailong Premium V" Kraft Linerboard, "Hailong Kraft Linerboard," "Dilong Premium V" Kraft Linerboard, and "Dilong Kraft Linerboard" will increase by RMB/HKD 50/tonne (USD 7/tonne).

2. [Waste Paper] On July 21, 2026, Nine Dragons Paper (Taicang, Jiangsu) lowered its waste paper procurement price by RMB 30/tonne; the adjusted delivered-to-mill price is RMB 1,950/tonne.

Nine Dragons Paper (Quanzhou, Fujian) lowered its waste paper procurement price by RMB 50/tonne; the adjusted delivered-to-mill price is RMB 2,010/tonne.

Nine Dragons Paper (Dongguan, Guangdong) lowered its waste paper procurement price by RMB 30/tonne; the adjusted delivered-to-mill price is RMB 2,020/tonne.
