According to CCTV News, persistent heatwaves in Europe have driven strong demand for cooling products, resulting in a steady stream of new overseas orders for Chinese air conditioner brands. Domestic manufacturers are accelerating production line expansions and operating at full capacity to rush out products and ensure timely delivery to overseas markets.
In Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, air conditioner exports saw significant double-digit growth in the first half of the year; local manufacturers are currently adding production lines to ramp up output.
He Chengcheng, Assistant to the Executive President of Jiangmen Baoshi Refrigeration & Electrical Appliances Co., Ltd.: "Orders from Europe rose by 20.3% in May and June. To boost capacity, we have added two new smart air conditioner production lines."
For Zhuhai-based Gree Electric Appliances, inventory of portable, installation-free air conditioners has completely sold out across regional channels, while orders for wall-mounted units remain overwhelming.
Zeng Fanlong, Head of European Markets at Gree Electric Appliances: "Growth rates exceeded 50% in regions like France and Spain. In Southern Europe, where sunlight is intense, we launched an integrated solar-storage-AC system; photovoltaic panels power the multi-split or water-based AC units, while surplus electricity meets the household's overall power needs."
Statistics show that Gongbei Customs has supervised the export of air conditioners valued at over RMB 9 billion so far this year. Notably, freestanding air conditioner units—which comply with European building regulations by clipping onto window frames (classifying them as furniture rather than fixed fixtures)—achieved a breakthrough in exports, while the export value of vehicle air conditioners rose by 84.26% year-on-year to reach RMB 4.6547 million.
