Price trends
According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, the aniline market saw a significant rise last week; the market price stood at 9,825 RMB/ton on July 6 and rose to 10,725 RMB/ton on July 10, marking a weekly increase of 9.16% and a year-on-year rise of 50.1%.
Analysis and Commentary
Last week, aniline prices rose due to tight domestic supply, manageable inventory levels, and stable demand. Concurrently, the price of the raw material benzene strengthened, with major producers raising their listed prices; driven by both raw material costs and demand, aniline prices increased by 500 RMB/ton and 400 RMB/ton over the course of the week. As of this Friday, mainstream domestic quotes for aniline stood at 10,700-10,800 RMB/ton.
Cost side: Amid recurring Middle East tensions during the week, crude oil prices rose. Benzene operating rates fell to a historic low due to tight supply, driving prices upward. Downstream operating rates declined as some sectors faced losses, putting pressure on production levels. Overall, with strong cost support and expectations of increased exports, the benzene market is projected to maintain a firm trend in July.
Market Outlook:
Aniline prices have currently risen to high levels; downstream buyers are entering the market cautiously, and demand has slowed. In the short term, the market is expected to digest these gains, while close attention should be paid to changes in costs and demand.
