According to data from SunSirs, the average market price of rapeseed meal was 2,356 RMB/tonne on July 3 and 2,404 RMB/tonne on July 9, marking an increase of 2.04%.
Currently, the supply of rapeseed meal is ample in both the short and medium term; high domestic crushing volumes combined with a concentrated arrival of imports have led to a continuous accumulation of market inventory. Furthermore, strong expectations for a bumper rapeseed harvest overseas suggest significant future supply pressure, which continues to cap the potential for price increases.
Seasonal demand from the aquaculture sector provides a floor for rapeseed meal prices, keeping them within a lower trading range. However, sluggish downstream stockpiling, a pronounced substitution effect from soybean meal, and weak demand from the livestock and poultry sectors result in overall lackluster demand, making it difficult to drive a market rally.
In the short term, rapeseed meal prices are expected to fluctuate, supported by essential aquaculture demand, while weather conditions in overseas markets trigger only brief rebounds. With domestic supply remaining ample, upside potential is significantly constrained. The market is likely to continue fluctuating within a range, with little prospect of a sustained upward trend.
