SunSirs: Brazil's Corn Exports Show a Sharp Year-on-year Decline in Early-July
July 10 2026 09:16:02SunSirs(Selena)

Data from Secex indicates that the pace of Brazil's corn exports in early July 2026 is lagging behind the levels seen during the same period last year. Export volume totaled 120,000 metric tons from July 1 to July 3, compared to 2.43 million metric tons in July 2025.

As a major global corn exporter, Brazil's significantly slower export pace in early July—relative to the previous year—suggests a tightening of global corn supplies. This development provides support for domestic corn spot prices and is viewed as a bullish factor. Regarding futures, the benchmark corn contract (C2609) on the Dalian Commodity Exchange closed at 2,299 yuan/tonne on July 8, 2026, up 6 yuan/tonne from the previous trading day. With trading volume at 512,900 lots and open interest at 1,043,200 lots, market activity remains robust; bolstered by this export news, futures prices are expected to maintain a firm trend.
