As of July 3, rapeseed inventories at major coastal oil plants stood at 405,600 tonnes, an increase of 34,600 tonnes from the previous week.
The rise in rapeseed inventories to 405,600 tonnes indicates ample raw material supplies, supporting higher subsequent crushing rates at oil plants. Expectations of increased rapeseed oil supply exert moderate downward pressure on spot prices. Regarding futures, the benchmark rapeseed oil contract (2609) closed at 9,858 RMB/tonne on July 7, 2026—up 129 RMB/tonne; while the market shows short-term strength, anticipated supply growth continues to weigh on the outlook.
Similarly, the rise in rapeseed inventories supports increased crushing volumes and expectations of higher rapeseed meal supplies, exerting moderate downward pressure on spot prices. In the futures market, the benchmark rapeseed meal contract (2609) closed at 2,318 RMB/tonne on July 7, 2026—up 28 RMB/tonne; despite short-term market strength, supply-side pressure is expected to gradually emerge.
