On July 7, prices for natural rubber raw materials in Thai producing regions saw a slight increase: Ribbed Smoked Sheets (RSS) were quoted at 88.50 THB/kg (up 1.20 THB/kg); field latex at 77.00 THB/kg (up 1.00 THB/kg); and cup lump at 69.60 THB/kg (up 0.30 THB/kg).
Regarding the spot market, the across-the-board rise in prices for RSS, field latex, and cup lump in Thailand—a key global producer—directly drives up import costs. This provides strong cost support for domestic natural rubber spot prices, favoring a firm price trend. In the futures market, the benchmark natural rubber contract (RU2609) on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at 16,910 RMB/tonne on July 6, 2026, up 210 RMB/tonne from the previous trading day. With increases in both trading volume and open interest, combined with the bullish factor of rising raw material prices in major producing regions, futures prices are expected to maintain their upward momentum.
