SunSirs: India's Palm Oil Imports Hit 14-Month Low in June
July 06 2026 14:05:39SunSirs(Selena)

Indian traders estimate that palm oil imports fell to a 14-month low in June, as sluggish demand and a narrowing price advantage over competing oils prompted buyers to scale back purchases. Imports are projected to drop to 492,000 tonnes—a 10.5% month-on-month decline—marking the lowest level since April 2025 and falling below the 2024/25 marketing year (November–October) monthly average of 632,000 tonnes.

As a major global importer of palm oil, India saw its June imports drop 10.5% month-on-month to a 14-month low, well below the 2024/25 average. This decline, driven by weak demand and a reduced price advantage over rival oils, reflects sluggish downstream consumption and exerts bearish pressure on both spot and futures prices for palm oil.
