SunSirs: With Weak Demand, Potassium Sulfate Prices Were Downward
July 06 2026 13:57:15SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to monitoring by the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the price of potassium sulfate (50% content) was 4,106 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 4,100 RMB/ton at the weekend, representing a price increase of 0.16%.

Market analysis

Last week, the market for potassium sulfate was sluggish; ex-factory prices for 52% powder (including fully water-soluble grades) hovered around 4,300-4,350 RMB/ton, while delivered prices for 50% resource-based potassium sulfate powder were approximately 3,850-3,900 RMB/ton. Prices varied across regions due to differences in supply sources and costs. Although supported by the costs of raw materials (potassium chloride and sulfur), potassium sulfate prices remained high; however, weak demand from downstream compound fertilizer producers caused some processing enterprises to face cost-price inversion, resulting in an overall lackluster market atmosphere.

Demand side: The market is currently in a lull between the conclusion of the summer fertilizer season and the full-scale launch of the autumn season. Operating rates among downstream compound fertilizer producers are low, and end-user purchasing is limited to immediate needs; overall demand remains sluggish, constraining further price increases for potassium sulfate.

Market outlook

Trading activity in the potassium sulfate market has fallen short of expectations; domestic potash prices are expected to exhibit a fluctuating, slightly bearish trend in the short term.
