China pork, eggs and vegetable prices were flat to slightly down in the 25th week of 2026; beef prices were slightly up; international prices for a variety of bulk agricultural products were up.                    

I. China wholesale prices of fresh agricultural products

According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the "Agricultural Products Wholesale Price Index 200" in the 25th week of 2026 (June 15-21, 2026, hereinafter referred to) was 112.64 (with 2015 as 100), down 0.76 points from the previous week and 0.38 points lower than the same period last year; the "Wholesale Price Index of 'Basket of Goods' Products" was 112.55 (with 2015 as 100), down 0.91 points from the previous week and 0.58 points lower than the same period last year.

1.Pork, egg prices fall, beef prices rise slightly. The wholesale market average price of pork per kilogram is 14.50 RMB, down 0.2% week-on-week and down 28.0% year-on-year; the wholesale market average price of beef per kilogram is 66.70 RMB, up 0.2% week-on-week and up 5.1% year-on-year; the wholesale market average price of mutton per kilogram is 64.08 RMB, basically unchanged week-on-week and up 7.4% year-on-year; the wholesale market average price of white chicken per kilogram is 17.05 RMB, down 0.3% week-on-week and up 0.3% year-on-year. The wholesale market average price of eggs per kilogram is 10.59 RMB, down 1.9% week-on-week and up 47.7% year-on-year.

2. The average wholesale price of vegetables saw a slight decline. The average wholesale price of the 28 key vegetables monitored was 4.28 RMB per kilogram, a decrease of 0.5% compared to the previous week and 2.1% lower than the same period last year. Breaking it down by variety, prices for 14 vegetables decreased, 2 remained unchanged, and 12 increased. Among these, the prices of cucumber, shiitake mushroom, and okra dropped by 8.1%, 6.8%, and 6.1% respectively compared to the previous week, with the prices of the remaining varieties falling within 5%; the prices of shallot and garlic were basically unchanged compared to the previous week; the price of lotus root increased by 10.4% compared to the previous week, with the prices of the remaining varieties increasing within 5%.

3. Prices of a variety of freshwater aquatic products fell. The average wholesale prices per kilogram were 18.31 RMB for grass carp, 10.04 RMB for white carp, 20.24 RMB for carp, 18.75 RMB for flower carp, and 14.64 RMB for carp, down by 1.0%, 0.8%, 0.6%, 0.6%, and 0.5% week-on-week, respectively. The average wholesale prices per kilogram were 41.88 RMB for large hairtail and 46.91 RMB for large yellow croaker, up by 2.1% and 1.4% week-on-week, respectively.

4. The average wholesale price of key fruits has declined. The average wholesale price of the six key fruits monitored was 7.49 RMB per kilogram, a decrease of 0.9% week-on-week and 0.7% lower than the same period last year. Looking at the individual varieties, the average wholesale price of watermelon, Muscatine grape and banana decreased by 3.6%, 2.4% and 1.4% week-on-week respectively; the average wholesale price of pineapple, pear and Fuji apple increased by 1.6%, 0.6% and 0.1% week-on-week respectively.

II. The situation of international bulk agricultural product prices

1. A variety of bulk agricultural products have seen price increases. The weekly average closing price of the recent futures contract for wheat and corn on the Chicago Board of Trade in the United States was $221 per ton and $164 per ton, respectively, an increase of 2.7% and 0.2% compared to the previous week, and 7.9% and 3.5% higher compared to the same period last year. The International Cotton Price Index (SM grade) was 87.74 cents per pound (or $1,934 per ton), an increase of 1.6% compared to the previous week and 14.7% higher compared to the same period last year. The weekly average FOB price of 100%B grade and 5% broken rice from Bangkok was $499 per ton and $493 per ton, respectively, an increase of 2.1% compared to the previous week, and 14.7% and 17.5% higher compared to the same period last year. The weekly average CIF price of palm oil from the Port of Rotterdam in Malaysia was $1,587 per ton, an increase of 0.9% compared to the previous week and 24.4% higher compared to the same period last year.

2. Soybean oil and raw sugar prices fell. The closing weekly average price of soybean oil futures contract at the Chicago Board of Trade in the United States was $1,590 per ton, down 3.4% month-on-month and up 31.7% year-on-year. The closing weekly average price of raw sugar at the International Sugar Organization was 14.35 cents per pound (or $316 per ton), down 1.8% month-on-month and down 13.7% year-on-year.
