SunSirs:Bromine Prices Trended Weakly This Week (June 22-26)
June 26 2026 15:17:36SunSirs(John)

Price trends

According to the commodity market analysis system of SunSirs, bromine prices trended downward this week. The average market price was 30,900 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 28,500 RMB/ton at the weekend, representing a decline of 7.77% and an increase of 13.55% compared to the same period last year.

On June 25, the SunSirs bromine index stood at 102.46 points, down 2.45 points from the previous day. This figure is 58.40% lower than the cycle peak of 246.32 points (recorded on April 7, 2026) and 73.90% higher than the cycle low of 58.92 points (recorded on October 29, 2014). (Note: The cycle spans from September 1, 2011, to the present.)

Market Analysis

Bromine prices trended downward this week. The market in Shandong remained sluggish, with manufacturers quoting prices in the range of 30,000-32,000 RMB/ton; actual transaction activity was weak, and a wait-and-see sentiment prevailed. Operating rates in the bromine industry continued to rise, gradually replenishing spot supplies, while downstream demand remained lackluster, characterized by purchasing limited to immediate needs.

Regarding raw materials, domestic sulfur prices trended downward overall this week. The average market price fell from 9,034.33 RMB/ton at the start of the week to 8,401 RMB/ton by the weekend—a decline of 7.1%, though still an increase of 259.86% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand remained fair.

Market outlook

Bromine prices have recently been trending weakly. Although the price of upstream sulfur has also been soft, the supply of bromine is gradually recovering, while downstream buyers are largely purchasing on an as-needed basis. Market sentiment remains cautious and wait-and-see, with overall trading activity subdued. Given the interplay between supply and demand, bromine prices are expected to undergo weak consolidation in the near term, with the specific trajectory depending on downstream market demand.
