Regarding the spot market, prices trended upward on June 11, with low-sulfur 180cst and 120cst fuel oil quoted at 5,800–6,300 RMB/tonne and 5,900–6,400 RMB/tonne (ex-warehouse), respectively; this rise in quotes provided positive support for spot prices. In the futures market, the settlement price for the SHFE fuel oil benchmark contract (2609) was 3,693 RMB/tonne on June 10, closing down 105 RMB/tonne for the day; the recent rise in the spot market helps boost bullish sentiment in the futures market, providing favorable support for futures prices.
