On June 10, Sinopec South China Company’s posted prices for xylene were as follows: isomer-grade xylene from Guangzhou Petrochemical was priced at 7,050 RMB/ton; isomer-grade xylene from Maoming Petrochemical was priced at 7,050 RMB/ton; and isomer-grade xylene from Zhongke Refining & Chemical was priced at 7,050 RMB/ton.
Despite a sharp overnight drop in crude oil prices—and a subsequent narrowing of losses for aromatics-related products during the night trading session—overall bearish market sentiment remained unchanged. Spot prices for toluene and xylene had already trended downward on June 9; while the market remains weak, the scope for further steep declines in the short term appears limited. Future price movements will depend heavily on real-time fluctuations in crude oil and aromatics futures.
