SunSirs: FAO June Report Shows Significant Rise in Global Corn Production
June 10 2026 13:02:01SunSirs(Selena)

The June report released by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) indicates that global cereal production for the 2025/26 marketing year (July–June) is estimated at 3.043 billion tonnes—a year-on-year increase of 6.1%—driven by substantial production gains across all major cereals, particularly corn.

The FAO report highlights a 6.1% year-on-year rise in global cereal production for 2025/26, with corn showing particularly significant growth; expectations of ample supply are exerting downward pressure on corn spot prices. Regarding futures, corn-related contracts on the Dalian Commodity Exchange traded within a narrow range on June 8, 2026, as the outlook for abundant supply continues to weigh on futures prices.
