1. [Excavators] According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, major excavator manufacturers sold a total of 24,794 excavators in May 2026, a year-on-year increase of 36.2%. Domestic sales accounted for 11,628 units (up 38.6% year-on-year), while exports totaled 13,166 units (up 34.2% year-on-year).

2. [Automobiles] According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), retail sales of passenger cars nationwide in May totaled 1.51 million units, down 22.1% year-on-year but up 9.2% month-on-month. Of this total, retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 950,000 units—a year-on-year decline of 7.5% but a month-on-month increase of 12.4%—with a retail penetration rate of 62.9% within the overall domestic passenger vehicle market.

Chemical

1. [Hydrofluoric Acid] On June 5, a capacity expansion project by Anhui Furuixing—involving an annual output of 40,000 tons of chemically pure hydrofluoric acid and 55,000 tons of etching solution—was officially announced. Upon completion, the facility will possess a total annual production capacity of 80,000 tons of chemically pure hydrofluoric acid and 100,000 tons of etching solution.

2. [Hydrogen Peroxide] Construction is currently underway for the Phase I integrated phosphorus-coal-chemical project in Bijie, Guizhou, which includes facilities for the annual production of 300,000 tons of coal-based ammonia and 450,000 tons of hydrogen peroxide. The hydrogen peroxide component comprises 390,000 tons of 27.5% concentration and 60,000 tons of 35% concentration product.

3. [Polysilicon] A polysilicon production base in Inner Mongolia has scheduled maintenance due to cold hydrogenation equipment servicing; a preliminary shutdown is set for late June, followed by a full-month shutdown in July, with a return to normal operations expected in August. This schedule will have a limited impact on June's output but may reduce July's production by approximately 5,000 tons.

4. [BDO] As of June 8, regarding Inner Mongolia Dongjing's BDO facilities (totaling 100,000 + 280,000 tonnes capacity): the Phase I (100,000-tonne) unit is currently shut down; the Phase II (280,000-tonne) unit is scheduled for a 50-day maintenance shutdown starting June 10. There are currently no spot price quotations.

As of June 8, Xinjiang Markor Chemical's Phase III (100,000 tonnes/year) unit is shut down, while the Phase I (60,000 tonnes/year), Phase II (100,000 tonnes/year), Phase IV (100,000 tonnes/year), and Phase V (100,000 tonnes/year) BDO units are operating normally; the Phase II unit is scheduled for maintenance in mid-June, with an estimated duration of over one month.

5. [Sulfur] As of June 8, total sulfur inventory at Chinese ports stood at 916,700 tonnes: Fangchenggang (320,000 tonnes), Beihai Port (65,000 tonnes), Zhanjiang Port (80,000 tonnes), Zhenjiang Port (350,000 tonnes), Nanjing Port (15,000 tonnes), and Dafeng Port (48,000 tonnes).

6. [Potassium Chloride] As of June 8, port inventories of potassium chloride stood at 125,000 tonnes at Zhanjiang Port, approximately 665,500 tonnes at Lianyungang Port, 113,000 tonnes (imported) at Machong Port, and approximately 93,000 tonnes at Qingdao Port.

7. [Lithium Carbonate] Between June 1 and June 8, the total volume of Australian lithium concentrate shipped to China was 84,000 tonnes, an increase of 37,000 tonnes compared to the previous period; the average weekly shipment volume to China was 69,500 tonnes.

8. [Lithium Carbonate] Data released by Chilean customs on June 8 showed that Chile's total lithium exports in May amounted to 20,495 tonnes, of which 19,133 tonnes were lithium carbonate. Exports of lithium carbonate to China for the month totaled 13,601 tonnes.

9. [Styrene] On June 9, Lihuayi Weiyuan Chemical Co., Ltd. quoted styrene at 8,730 RMB/ton, an increase of 130 RMB/ton from the previous trading day.

10. [Titanium Dioxide] Panzhihua Haifengxin: Effective June 8, 2026, the company will raise the prices of the titanium dioxide series produced by itself and its wholly-owned subsidiaries by 1,000 RMB/ton above current levels.

Anhui Annada announced that, effective June 8, 2026, the domestic base sales prices for both rutile-grade and anatase-grade titanium dioxide will be raised by 1,000 RMB/ton while the export base sales prices will be increased by 150 USD per tonne.

Kuncai Technology (Zhengtai New Materials) has decided that, effective June 8, 2026, prices will be raised by 1,000 RMB/ton in the domestic market and by 150 USD per tonne in the international market, based on current price levels.
