[Excavators] According to statistics from the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, major excavator manufacturers sold a total of 24,794 excavators in May 2026, a year-on-year increase of 36.2%. Domestic sales accounted for 11,628 units (up 38.6% year-on-year), while exports totaled 13,166 units (up 34.2% year-on-year).

2. [Automobiles] According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), retail sales of passenger cars nationwide in May totaled 1.51 million units, down 22.1% year-on-year but up 9.2% month-on-month. Of this total, retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles reached 950,000 units—a year-on-year decline of 7.5% but a month-on-month increase of 12.4%—with a retail penetration rate of 62.9% within the overall domestic passenger vehicle market.

1. [Polyester Staple Fiber] On June 8, Chuzhou Xingbang raised its polyester staple fiber prices by 150 yuan/tonne; specifically, the price for semi-dull direct-spun 1.4D*38mm polyester staple fiber was quoted at 8,260 yuan/tonne.

2. [Cotton Lint] Data from the National Cotton Market Monitoring System shows that as of June 4, the national processing rate stood at 99.9%, remaining flat year-on-year and matching the average of the past four years. The national sales rate was 96.2%, up 8.0 percentage points year-on-year and 16.4 percentage points higher than the four-year average.

3. [Cotton Lint] The weekly crop progress report released by the USDA indicates that for the week ending June 7, the U.S. cotton planting rate reached 77% (compared to 66% the previous week, 75% during the same period last year, and a five-year average of 77%), while the squaring rate was 13% (compared to 7% the previous week, 11% during the same period last year, and a five-year average of 11%).

4. [Cotton Lint] From May 29 to June 4, 2026, the average spot price for standard-grade cotton across the seven major U.S. markets was 71.41 cents per pound, down 0.71 cents per pound from the previous week but up 8.75 cents per pound from the same period last year. Sales across these seven markets totaled 8,583 bales, bringing the cumulative total for the 2025/26 marketing year to 1,504,079 bales.

5. [Cotton Lint] Data from the Brazilian Ministry of Commerce regarding agricultural exports shows that during the first week of June 2026 (comprising four working days), a total of 64,200 tonnes of unprocessed cotton was shipped, compared to 132,800 tonnes in June of the previous year. The average daily shipment volume was 16,000 tonnes, an increase of 141.55% from the 6,600 tonnes per day recorded in June of the previous year.

6. [Cotton Lint] According to CONAB (the National Supply Company under Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture), as of June 5, Brazil's cotton harvest progress stood at 0.9%, compared to 0.4% the previous week, 1.4% during the same period last year, and a five-year average of 1.0%.
