On June 8, the Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (SBR) market in East China saw a decline in prices. Amidst high-level volatility in the international crude oil market, downstream buyers limited their inquiries to immediate needs, prompting suppliers and traders to lower their quotes by 150–250 RMB/tonne. Currently, mainstream offers for SBR 1502 (from producers such as Fushun, Jihua, Weitai, Yibang, and Lanhua) range from 14,150 to 14,300 RMB/tonne.

SBR is a key downstream product of butadiene. The recent downturn in the East China SBR market—driven by weak downstream demand and lowered quotes from suppliers and traders—has reduced support for the raw material, butadiene. Additionally, the main butadiene futures contract (2607) closed down by 440 RMB/tonne on June 5; this market weakness further dampened sentiment and exerted moderate downward pressure on butadiene prices.

With the East China SBR market experiencing a significant price drop on June 8, downstream purchasing enthusiasm remained low, and quotes were reduced across the board by 150–250 RMB/tonne. Current mainstream offers for SBR 1502 stand at 14,150–14,300 RMB/tonne. Coupled with insufficient cost-side support due to volatile international crude oil prices, these factors have created strong bearish pressure on SBR prices.
