The US market closing price rose by $8.75/tonne, with FOB Gulf Coast prices settling at $1,140.62–$1,140.97/tonne (322.06–322.16 cents/gallon).
Offshore MTBE closing prices in Asia, Europe, and the US all trended upward on June 8, rising by $53.50/tonne, $17.75/tonne, and $8.75/tonne respectively compared to the previous trading day. The rise in import costs is expected to fuel expectations that the domestic MTBE spot market will follow suit, providing bullish support for prices.
