SunSirs: Analysis of China's Propylene Oxide Import and Export Data for April

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, China imported 9,800 tonnes of propylene oxide in April 2026, a year-on-year increase of 400.0%. Key sources of imports included Thailand (3,000 tonnes, 30.6%), Saudi Arabia (2,500 tonnes, 25.4%), and Singapore (2,300 tonnes, 23.5%). China exported 1,700 tonnes of propylene oxide, up 799.1% year-on-year; the primary export destination was Japan (1,500 tonnes, 86.3%).

From January to April 2026, China imported 45,400 tonnes of propylene oxide, a year-on-year increase of 10.6%. Major sources of imports were Thailand (21,100 tonnes, 46.5%), Saudi Arabia (15,200 tonnes, 33.4%), and Singapore (7,100 tonnes, 15.6%). During the same period, China exported 1,800 tonnes of propylene oxide, up 111.1% year-on-year, with Japan being the primary destination (1,500 tonnes, 82.8%).
