On June 4, market prices for natural rubber raw materials in Thailand's production regions saw an uptick: Smoked Sheets were quoted at 92.20 THB/kg, an increase of 1.95 THB/kg; Latex was quoted at 84.50 THB/kg, up 0.30 THB/kg; and Cup Lump was quoted at 74.05 THB/kg, an increase of 0.75 THB/kg.
Thailand stands as a core global production hub for natural rubber. With prices for key raw materials—including Smoked Sheets, Latex, and Cup Lump—rising across the board in the production regions, the cost side is providing significant support, thereby bolstering the price trend of spot natural rubber. In the futures market, on June 3, the benchmark natural rubber contract (Contract 2609) on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed at 18,165 RMB/ton—an increase of 155 RMB/ton from the previous trading day—with open interest standing at 191,900 lots. Expectations of rising raw material costs are anticipated to drive natural rubber futures prices to trend upward.
