As a key global exporter of soybean oil, Brazil saw its exports surge by a remarkable 47% year-on-year in April 2026—marking a 20-year high. This surge reflects robust global demand for soybean oil, which is providing strong support for prices. In tandem with domestic soybean oil futures market performance on June 1, 2026, the benchmark September 2026 contract (2609) closed at 8,596 RMB per ton—an increase of 40 RMB per ton. Open interest rose by 2,229 lots, indicating a significant buildup in long positions; consequently, the futures market trended bullishly, simultaneously driving spot prices higher.
