With the Asian MTBE market closed on May 27 in observance of Eid al-Adha, closing prices in the European and U.S. international markets declined by $61.75 per ton and $28.26 per ton, respectively, compared to the previous trading day. This weakening of international prices is expected to lower projected import costs for domestic MTBE, thereby exerting bearish pressure on domestic MTBE spot prices.
