May 27 2026 13:58:02SunSirs(Selena)

On May 26, closing prices in global MTBE export markets trended downward: The Asian MTBE market closed at a decline of $3.82/ton compared to the previous trading day, with FOB Singapore prices settling at $833.08–$835.08/ton. The European MTBE market closed down $45/ton from the previous day, with FOB ARA prices settling at $1,093.24–$1,093.74/ton. The U.S. MTBE market closed $79.19/ton lower than the previous day, with FOB Gulf Coast prices settling at $1,122.80–$1,123.16/ton (317.03–317.13 cents/gallon).

On May 26, closing prices for MTBE in the Asian, European, and U.S. export markets all experienced declines. The U.S. market saw the largest drop, falling by $79.19/ton, followed by Europe with a decline of $45/ton, and Asia with a decline of $3.82/ton. This overall weakening of global export markets is expected to transmit to the domestic market, exerting bearish pressure on domestic MTBE spot prices.
