SunSirs: Aniline Market Weakened This Week (May 18–22)
May 22 2026 16:01:04SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the SunSirs Commodity Market Analysis System, aniline prices trended downward this week. On May 18, the market price for aniline stood at 11,462 RMB/ton; by May 22, the price had fallen to 11,062 RMB/ton—a weekly decline of 3.49%, yet still representing a year-on-year increase of 45.08%.

Market analysis

The aniline market experienced a weak downward trend this week. The recent soft decline in the price of the raw material, benzene, undermined market confidence and dampened buying interest. To stimulate sales, aniline manufacturers lowered their prices by 100 RMB/ton and 300 RMB/ton, respectively. As of Friday, mainstream aniline prices had fallen to the range of 11,000–11,200 RMB/ton.

Cost Perspective: The benzene market has recently been fluctuating within a narrow range. Due to persistent restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz, production cuts at various Asian refineries have been gradually increasing, leading to a marked contraction in benzene supply. Although negative feedback from downstream sectors persists, the overall supply-demand outlook for benzene remains relatively tight; port inventories continue to decline, thereby providing support to prices.

Market Outlook

Following the recent price decline, demand within the aniline market has shown signs of stabilization, with downstream sectors gradually following suit. Given the absence of significant changes in raw material markets, the aniline market is expected to undergo a period of consolidation in the short term.
