According to EU data, EU rapeseed imports for the 2025/26 season to date have declined by 29% year-on-year. While the import shares from both Australia and Ukraine have decreased, Canada's share has increased. As of May 17, 2026, Australia has overtaken Ukraine to become the EU's leading rapeseed supplier, with imports reaching 1.59 million tonnes—a 44.8% year-on-year decrease—and its market share falling from 44.2% to 34.3%.

Ukraine ranks as the second-largest supplier, with imports totaling 1.47 million tonnes—a 38.0% year-on-year decline—and its market share dropping from 36.2% to 31.6%.

Canada is the third-largest supplier, providing 840,000 tonnes—a 7.5% year-on-year decrease—while its market share rose from 13.9% to 18.1%.

So far in the 2025/26 season, total EU rapeseed imports stand at 4.64 million tonnes, representing a 29% year-on-year decrease.

In the 2024/25 season, the EU imported 7.447 million tonnes of rapeseed, a 31% increase year-on-year. Of this total, imports from Australia amounted to 3.51 million tonnes—an 87.7% year-on-year increase—with its market share rising from 33.0% to 47.1%. Imports from Ukraine totaled 2.41 million tonnes—a 23.7% year-on-year decrease—with its market share falling from 55.6% to 32.4%. Meanwhile, imports from Canada reached 1.13 million tonnes—a staggering 999% year-on-year increase—with its market share also rising significantly from 1.8% to 15.2%.
