Market analysis
On May 20, the market for phthalic anhydride—a key raw material for DOP—experienced weak consolidation, while isooctanol prices stabilized; consequently, the overall cost of DOP raw materials leveled off. DOP manufacturers increased their operating rates, and market conditions in downstream sectors also stabilized. Downstream demand was driven primarily by immediate necessities, yet downstream customers demonstrated an increased willingness to make purchases. Transaction prices were subject to negotiation, with DOP quoted in the range of 9,200–9,500 RMB/ton; both quoted prices and actual transaction prices remained stable. As bullish factors waned and bearish factors persisted, the overall DOP market trended toward stability.
