Price trend
On May 20, the benchmark price for 1,4-Butanediol (BDO) reported by SunSirs stood at 8,404.17 RMB/ton, representing a decrease of 1.18% compared to the beginning of the month (8,504.17 RMB/ton).
In the South China region, mainstream spot negotiation prices for bulk BDO stood at 8,400–8,500 RMB/ton, while negotiation prices for drummed BDO were 9,400–9,500 RMB/ton (acceptance payment, delivered); the upper end of this range has declined by 50 RMB/ton. In the East China region, mainstream spot negotiation prices for bulk BDO were 8,300–8,400 RMB/ton, and negotiation prices for drummed BDO were 9,300–9,400 RMB/ton (acceptance payment, delivered); the upper end of this range had also declined by 50 RMB/ton.
Market Update:
The downward trend in the South China BDO market continued. Fundamentals offered no significant positive catalysts; while contract orders were being traded, spot market negotiations remained sluggish and characterized by bargaining. Holders maintained a bearish trading sentiment, causing market prices to fluctuate downward.
The East China BDO market was operating in a weak and subdued state. Fundamental support remained weak, and industry participants maintained a cautious, bearish outlook. Trading activity within the market was limited to contract orders and sporadic negotiations for small-volume, immediate-demand purchases, causing the market's price center to drift lower.
