According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, China's output of plastic products in March 2026 totaled 7.148 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. For the first quarter of the year, the country's total output of plastic products reached 18.773 million tons, up 3.9% year-on-year.
In March, the top five provinces in terms of plastic product output were Zhejiang (1.370 million tons, accounting for 19.2% of the total), Guangdong (1.066 million tons, 14.9%), Hubei (576,000 tons, 8.1%), Jiangsu (565,000 tons, 7.9%), and Shandong (513,000 tons, 7.2%).
Regionally, the Eastern region maintained its lead in plastic product output during the first quarter of 2026, with a cumulative volume of 11.651 million tons, accounting for 62.1% of the total. The Central region recorded a cumulative output of 4.646 million tons (24.7%), followed by the Western region with 2.085 million tons (11.1%) and the Northeastern region with 391,000 tons (2.1%).
