On May 13, the Ministry of Natural Resources announced the results of the resource reserve verification and exploration project at the Yulong Copper Mine in Jiangda County, Tibet Autonomous Region. The project identified newly added resources within the mining area totaling 1.3142 million tons of copper, 107,700 tons of molybdenum, and 793 tons of silver. With these additions, the cumulative proven reserves at the Yulong mining area have now reached 7.534 million tons of copper, 459,000 tons of molybdenum, and 3,048 tons of silver. This milestone marks a significant step forward in the development of a major copper and polymetallic resource base on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The Yulong Copper Mine is situated in the northern section of the Yulong Porphyry Copper Belt, located within the "Three Rivers" Metallogenic Belt of eastern Tibet. It ranks as one of China's largest and most economically valuable porphyry-skarn type copper-polymetallic deposits, currently boasting an annual copper metal output exceeding 150,000 tons.
