On May 11, the SunSirs benchmark price for DOP stood at 10,075.83 RMB/ton, representing an increase of 0.25% compared to the beginning of the month (10,050.83 RMB/ton).
On May 11, the DOP market in the Jiangsu region declined, with prices quoted at 9,800 RMB/ton. In the Shandong region, the DOP market also trended downward, quoted at 9,600 RMB/ton; similarly, the DOP market in the Zhejiang region fell, with prices quoted at 9,900 RMB/ton.
Market analysis
On May 11, the market for phthalic anhydride—a key raw material for DOP—exhibited weak consolidation, while isooctanol prices fluctuated downward, resulting in a decline in DOP production costs. Operating rates at DOP manufacturing plants remained stable. The downstream market trended toward stabilization, driven primarily by essential demand; consequently, downstream customers demonstrated an increased willingness to make purchases. Transaction prices were subject to negotiation. DOP quoted prices ranged from 9,600 to 9,900 RMB per ton—a decline from previous levels—and actual transaction prices also trended downward. With bullish factors diminishing and bearish factors intensifying, the overall DOP market trended lower.
