On May 11, the market for natural rubber raw materials in Thailand's production regions saw an upward trend: Smoked Sheet Rubber was quoted at 90.00 THB/kg, an increase of 1.00 THB/kg; Rubber Latex was quoted at 86.00 THB/kg, an increase of 1.25 THB/kg; and Cup Lump Rubber was quoted at 70.50 THB/kg, an increase of 1.50 THB/kg.
Thailand is a core global hub for natural rubber production. With prices for all three categories of raw materials—Smoked Sheet, Latex, and Cup Lump—showing significant increases, cost-side support has strengthened markedly. This development is bullish for the price trajectory of domestic natural rubber spot markets. In the futures market, the benchmark natural rubber contract on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) has seen active trading recently; the bullish momentum stemming from rising raw material prices is expected to provide upward impetus to futures prices.
