According to EU data, EU rapeseed imports for the 2025/26 marketing year to date have declined by 29% year-on-year. While the import shares from both Australia and Ukraine have decreased, Canada's share has increased.
As of May 3, 2026, Ukraine remained the EU's leading supplier of rapeseed, with imports totaling 1.44 million tonnes—a 39.2% decrease year-on-year—causing its market share to fall from 39.6% to 33.7%.
Australia ranked as the second-largest supplier, providing 1.31 million tonnes—a 45.8% year-on-year reduction—with its market share dropping from 40.4% to 30.7%.
Canada stood as the third-largest supplier, delivering 800,000 tonnes—a 3.5% year-on-year decrease—while its market share rose from 14.0% to 18.9%.
For the 2025/26 marketing year to date, total EU rapeseed imports amounted to 4.26 million tonnes, representing a 29% decline compared to the previous year.
In the 2024/25 marketing year, the EU imported 7.447 million tonnes of rapeseed—a 31% increase year-on-year. Of this total, imports from Australia reached 3.51 million tonnes—an 87.7% year-on-year surge—boosting its market share from 33.0% to 47.1%. Imports from Ukraine totaled 2.41 million tonnes—a 23.7% year-on-year decline—with its market share falling from 55.6% to 32.4%. Meanwhile, imports from Canada reached 1.13 million tonnes—a staggering 999% year-on-year increase—significantly raising its market share from 1.8% to 15.2%.
