According to the SunSirs Commodity Market Analysis System, domestic prices for sodium metabisulfite rose last week. The average price for industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite stood at 3,966 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 3,980 RMB/ton by the end of the week, marking an increase of 0.34%.

Market analysis

Last week, the domestic market price for industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite (96.5% purity) rose. While the price of soda ash, an upstream raw material, remained stable, sulfur prices increased by 1.40%. The continued upward trend in upstream sulfur prices drove up sodium metabisulfite prices.

Market Outlook

Rising domestic raw material costs for sodium metabisulfite continue to underpin prices; in the short term, domestic market prices are expected to exhibit a predominantly volatile yet stronger trend.
