SunSirs: The Price of Anhydrous Hydrogen Gluoride Remained Stable at a High level Last Week (April 13–17)
April 20 2026 10:38:15SunSirs(John)

Price trend

Last week, the price of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride remained stable at a high level. According to data from the SunSirs analysis system, as of April 17, the benchmark price for hydrofluoric acid stood at 15,100 RMB/ton—an increase of 2.95% compared to the beginning of the month.

Market analysis

Raw Materials: Last week, the prices of key raw materials—sulfuric acid and fluorite—held steady at elevated levels. Supported by high input costs, hydrofluoric acid producers maintained firm pricing. According to data from the SunSirs analysis system, on April 17, the benchmark price for fluorite stood at 3,556.25 RMB/ton, remaining unchanged from the beginning of the month.

On April 17, the benchmark price for sulfuric acid, according to SunSirs, stood at 2,100.00 RMB/ton—an increase of 32.91% compared to the beginning of the month (1,580.00 RMB/ton).

Demand Side: The downstream refrigerant sector is gradually entering its traditional peak production season. Demand for certain refrigerant grades is robust, creating a degree of rigid demand for hydrofluoric acid. However, buyers remain cautious and show limited tolerance for high-priced raw materials; purchasing activities are primarily focused on replenishing inventory on an as-needed basis, resulting in generally moderate market transaction volumes.

Market outlook

Raw material prices—specifically for fluorite and sulfuric acid—remain supported at high levels. Consequently, downstream buyers are exercising caution, focusing primarily on restocking strictly according to immediate needs and demonstrating limited tolerance for high raw material costs. Furthermore, market analysis and forecasts from SunSirs' "Spot-Link" service suggest that the market price for anhydrous hydrogen fluoride is likely to undergo a period of high-level consolidation in the short term. Going forward, close attention should be paid to supply-and-demand dynamics and price fluctuations within the raw materials market.
