According to the monitoring of the Commodity Market Analysis System of SunSirs, the overall price of corrugated paper was mostly stable in February 2026, and showed a slight upward trend after the Spring Festival holiday. On February 27th, the average ex factory price of 140g corrugated paper was 2,692 RMB/ton, an increase of 0.45% compared to the average price on February 1st. The wastepaper market continues to operate weakly, and domestic wastepaper prices are generally in a downward trend. On February 27th, the average purchase price of A-grade waste yellow cardboard in Zhejiang Province was 1,556 RMB/ton, a decrease of 2.26% compared to the average price on February 1st.
In terms of wastepaper: In February, the wastepaper market was slightly bearish due to the impact of the Spring Festival holiday. Most packaging stations planned to clear their inventory before the Spring Festival, so their shipping intentions were more positive. This led to an increase in the amount of wastepaper received by paper companies, and some paper mills lowered the price of wastepaper to alleviate the pressure of high wastepaper inventory. However, market demand was slightly weaker due to the impact of the Spring Festival holiday. After the holiday, the market is still in the recovery stage, and the prices of wastepaper are mostly running steadily.
In terms of corrugated paper, the market supply was relatively weak in February due to the suspension of production during the Spring Festival holiday. Paper mills and downstream packaging companies have arranged for shutdowns and holidays this week, and the market trading atmosphere has gradually weakened. Therefore, the price of corrugated paper remained stable before the holiday. After the Spring Festival holiday, the first round of price increases at the beginning of the year were gradually implemented, and only some small and medium-sized paper enterprises in various regions followed suit, while some paper enterprises remained on the sidelines. The issuance of price increase letters from top paper mills after the holiday will further stimulate the stocking sentiment of downstream packaging companies.
SunSirs paper analysts believe that the Spring Festival holiday has ended, and paper mills and downstream markets are basically in a state of resuming production and work. Paper companies' inventories are showing an increasing trend. In addition, paper companies have successively issued notices of continued price increases in early March, which to some extent stimulates the market's positive recovery. It is expected that the short-term prices of corrugated paper and wastepaper will mainly fluctuate and remain on the sidelines.
