SunSirs: Isopropanol Market Prices Fell in February

According to data from SunSirs' commodity market analysis system, the price of isopropanol fell in February. The average domestic price of isopropanol was 5,733.33 RMB/ton on February 1st, and 5,625 RMB/ton on February 27th, representing a 1.89% increase compared to the beginning of the month.

Market Analysis

Isopropanol prices fell in February. In the first ten days of the month, prices initially rose and then fell, with weak end-user demand and a focus on immediate needs. The market stabilized in the middle of the month due to the Spring Festival holiday. In the latter part of the month, the domestic isopropanol market fluctuated within a range. As of February 27, most isopropanol prices in Shandong were around 5,500-5,700 RMB/ton; in Jiangsu, most isopropanol prices are around 5,600-5,900 RMB/ton.

Regarding acetone, the domestic acetone market price declined in February. The average price was 4,812.5 RMB/ton on February 1st and 4,625 RMB/ton on February 27th, a decrease of 3.9%. The acetone market is expected to fluctuate within a range in the short term, with most market participants adopting a wait-and-see approach.

Regarding propylene, the domestic propylene market price increased in February. The average price was 6,404.33 RMB/ton on February 1st, and 6,467.67 RMB/ton on February 27th, a decrease of 0.99%.As of February 27, the market was characterized by a wait-and-see attitude, and prices were consolidating with a slight downward bias.

Market Outlook

According to an isopropanol analyst at SunSirs, isopropanol prices fell in February. As of February 27, holders of inventory were relatively optimistic, and downstream demand was gradually recovering. It is expected that the isopropanol market will remain stable in the short term, with close attention paid to the trend of the raw material market.
