According to the US Department of Agriculture's Export Inspection Weekly report on February 24th, the amount of soybeans exported by the US to China (mainland) last week decreased by 50% compared to the previous week and by 29% compared to the same period last year. As of the week ending February 19, 2026, the United States shipped 344,885 tons of soybeans to China (mainland), compared to 684,069 tons shipped the previous week. 483,839 tons will be shipped during the same period in 2025, and 598,828 tons will be shipped during the same period in 2024. The inspection volume of soybean exports from the United States to China accounted for 51.5% of the total for that week, 56.9% last week, and 68.8% two weeks ago.
The US soybean exports to China decreased by 50% on a weekly basis, a year-on-year decrease of 29%, and the proportion of export inspection volume decreased from 56.9% to 51.5%, indicating significant weak demand. This will lead to a relative oversupply in the soybean spot market, increased inventory pressure, and downward price risks, resulting in significant negative impacts.
