On February 24th, acetic acid prices in North China rose, with delivered prices in surrounding areas around 2,660 RMB/ton, an increase of 20 RMB/ton. Acetic acid capacity utilization improved compared to before the holiday, downstream restocking was as needed, market trading was moderate, and enterprises adopted a wait-and-see attitude, leading to a consolidation and upward trend in acetic acid prices.
On February 24th, the market price of acetic acid in Shandong was around 2,660 RMB/ton, an increase of 15 RMB/ton. Acetic acid producers raised their prices, and downstream buyers followed suit with only immediate needs. Trading activity was relatively mild, and acetic acid prices generally trended upwards.
On February 24th, the price of acetic acid in Zhejiang province was around 2,680 RMB/ton (ex-works). Domestic acetic acid plant operating rates have increased compared to before the holiday, downstream demand was on a need-to-buy basis, and companies were adopting a wait-and-see attitude. The acetic acid market is expected to consolidate in the short term.
On February 24th, the acetic acid market in South China remained stable, with ex-factory prices around 2,575 RMB/ton (ex-works), a decrease of 50 RMB/ton from February 4th. Acetic acid plant operating rates have increased compared to before the holiday, with companies adopting a wait-and-see approach. Downstream buyers were following demand, and the acetic acid market is expected to remain range-bound in the short term.
