According to SunSirs' commodity price analysis system, the price of color coated steel sheets remained stable this week. On February 2nd, the market price of color coated steel sheets was 6,350 RMB/ton, and on February 6th, the price was also 6,350 RMB/ton. The price remained stable compared to last week and decreased by 7.971% compared to the same period last year.

Market Analysis

Galvanized Steel Sheet: This week, the price of galvanized steel sheets increased slightly. On Friday (February 6th), the price of galvanized steel sheets was 4,053 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.049% compared to last week and a decrease of 9.125% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coated steel market remained lukewarm, and market transactions were relatively weak.

Market outlook

This week, the supply of the five major steel product categories totaled 8.199 million tons, a decrease of 32,700 tons week-on-week, representing a 0.4% decrease; the total inventory of the five major steel products was 13.3775 million tons, an increase of 592,400 tons week-on-week, representing a 4.6% increase; the weekly consumption of the five major categories was 7.6066 million tons, a decrease of 5.1%; among them, the consumption of construction materials decreased by 16.6% week-on-week, while the consumption of plate products increased by 0.1% week-on-week.

Considering the approaching off-season, most factories, despite continuously rising costs, maintain their willingness to ship goods, and their quoted prices remain firm at high levels. This week, most domestic plants are operating normally, but production and sales are not yet balanced, resulting in a slight increase in inventory. Therefore, color coated steel sheet prices are expected to remain relatively stable in the short term.
