SunSirs: With Ample Supply and Weak Demand, the Price of N-Butanol Weakened in the First Week of February
February 06 2026 08:44:01SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to the commodity price analysis system of SunSirs, as of February 5, 2025, the reference price of n-butanol in Shandong, China, was 6,533 RMB/ton, a decrease of 133 RMB/ton compared to February 1 (reference price of n-butanol: 6,663 RMB/ton), representing a drop of 1.95%.

In the first week of February, the price of n-butanol in Shandong province declined from its high point

According to the commodity price analysis system of SunSirs, in the first week of February 2026 (February 1-5), the domestic n-butanol market in Shandong province showed an overall volatile downward trend. At the beginning of the week, the n-butanol market fluctuated, and negotiations became more flexible. From the middle of the week onwards, the overall market trend shifted downwards, with major manufacturers lowering their selling prices, leading to a downward transmission of market prices. The lowest price fell to 6,400 RMB/ton. As of February 5th, the reference price for n-butanol in Shandong was around 6,400-6,700 RMB/ton.

Analysis of market influencing factors

The supply and demand situation was easing: After entering February, downstream restocking of n-butanol was nearing completion, and overall market demand has weakened. Coupled with price reductions from some major manufacturers in Shandong, overall supply-side pressure has become apparent, slowing down the supply-demand transmission and leading to downward pressure on prices.

Market outlook

As of February 5th, the n-butanol market ws experiencing a slowdown in transactions, and downstream buyers were becoming increasingly resistant to the rising prices. In the short term, it is expected that the price of n-butanol will remain weak and consolidate before the holiday. In the long term, attention should be paid to the market recovery after the holiday and the purchasing power of downstream users in the next round of procurement.
