The average market price at the beginning of the month was 1,190 RMB/ton, and the average market price at the end of the month was around 1,187.5 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.21%, and a year-on-year decrease of 24.3%.

On January 29th, the SunSirs sodium bicarbonate index was 78.65 points, unchanged from the previous day, a decrease of 66.65% from the highest point of 235.84 points (2021-11-10) in the cycle, and an increase of 0.64% from the lowest point of 78.15 points on January 15, 2026. Market analysis

In Henan province, the price of sodium bicarbonate was weak, with ex-factory prices ranging from 1,080-1,200 RMB/ton. In Shandong province, ex-factory prices were between 1,150-12,50 RMB/ton. Due to downstream buyers purchasing mainly on demand, the market is expected to remain stable in the near future.

Raw materials: According to data monitored by SunSirs, the price of soda ash was weak in December. The average market price of light soda ash at the beginning of the month was 1,250 RMB/ton, and at the end of the month it was around 1,208 RMB/ton, a decrease of 3.36%, and a decrease of 19.14% compared to the same period last year.

Market Outlook:

According to analysts at SunSirs, the price of sodium bicarbonate was weak recently. Upstream raw material soda ash saw an overall weak performance in January. On the supply side, there were only minor fluctuations in production at some sodium bicarbonate plants.
