SunSirs: Price Situation of Livestock Products and Feed in Wholesale Markets in the 4th Week of January

According to the monitoring of 500 county-level agricultural markets and collection points across the country, in the 4th week of January (with the collection date being January 22nd), the prices of pork products, eggs, chicken, commercial layer chicks, beef cattle, mutton sheep, fresh milk, and fattening pig compound feed increased month-on-month. The price of commercial meat chicks decreased month-on-month, while the prices of corn, soybean meal, broiler compound feed, and layer compound feed remained unchanged month-on-month.

Prices of live pig products. The national average price of piglets was 25.96 CNY per kilogram, up 4.5% from the previous week and down 25.2% year-on-year. Piglet prices rose in 26 provinces including Shaanxi, Shanxi, Xinjiang, Fujian, and Ningxia, fell in Hainan and Inner Mongolia, and remained flat in Qinghai. The price in South China was relatively high at 28.96 CNY per kilogram; the price in North China was relatively low at 23.88 CNY per kilogram. The national average price of live pigs was 13.39 CNY per kilogram, up 2.5% from the previous week and down 18.8% year-on-year. Live pig prices rose in 29 provinces including Heilongjiang, Guangdong, Jilin, Fujian, and Gansu, while fell in Hainan. The price in Southwest China was relatively high at 13.90 CNY per kilogram; the price in Northeast China was relatively low at 12.72 CNY per kilogram. The national average price of pork was 23.57 CNY per kilogram, up 1.6% from the previous week and down 15.3% year-on-year. Pork prices rose in 26 provinces including Heilongjiang, Shanxi, Gansu, Shandong, and Fujian, fell in Yunnan, Hainan, and Guangdong, and remained flat in Shanghai. The price in South China was relatively high at 26.51 CNY per kilogram; the price in Northeast China was relatively low at 19.96 CNY per kilogram.

Prices of poultry products. The national average price of eggs was 9.03 CNY per kilogram, up 2.7% from the previous week and down 17.9% year-on-year. The price of eggs in 10 major producing provinces such as Hebei and Liaoning was 7.95 CNY per kilogram, up 5.0% from the previous week and down 19.9% year-on-year. The national average price of chicken was 22.47 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week and down 5.1% year-on-year. The average price of commercial layer chicks was 3.55 CNY per bird, up 0.9% from the previous week and down 13.4% year-on-year. The average price of commercial broiler chicks was 3.29 CNY per bird, down 1.5% from the previous week and down 4.1% year-on-year.

Prices of cattle and sheep products. The national average price of beef was 71.77 CNY per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous week and 9.7% year-on-year. The price of beef in 10 major producing provinces such as Hebei and Inner Mongolia was 65.66 CNY per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous week. The price of live cattle in major producing provinces was 26.72 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week and 20.0% year-on-year. The national average price of mutton was 72.43 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week and 3.1% year-on-year. The price of mutton in 10 major producing provinces such as Hebei and Inner Mongolia was 70.23 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week. The price of live sheep in major producing provinces was 30.61 CNY per kilogram, up 0.4% from the previous week and 5.7% year-on-year.

Raw milk prices. The average price of raw milk in 10 major producing provinces including Inner Mongolia and Hebei was 3.04 CNY per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous week and down 2.6% year-on-year.

Feed prices. The national average price of corn was 2.44 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week, up 7.5% year-on-year. The price of corn in the three northeastern provinces, the main producing areas, was 2.28 CNY per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week; the price of corn in Guangdong Province, a major consuming area, was 2.51 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week. The national average price of soybean meal was 3.33 CNY per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, up 0.9% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for fattening pigs was 3.37 CNY per kilogram, up 0.3% from the previous week and 0.9% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for broilers was 3.51 CNY per kilogram, the same as the previous week, up 1.4% year-on-year. The average price of compound feed for laying hens was 3.23 CNY per kilogram, unchanged from the previous week, up 1.9% year-on-year.
