According to the business data analysis system of SunSirs, the domestic price of sodium metabisulfite has increased. The average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite was 2,280 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 2,290 RMB/ton at the end of the week, representing a price increase of 0.44%.

Market analysis

Last week, the domestic market price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite (96.5% purity) increased. The price of soda ash, an upstream raw material for sodium metabisulfite, remained stable, while sulfur prices rose by 2.29%, and downstream caprolactam prices increased by 0.35%. The continued upward trend in sulfur prices, a key upstream raw material, drove the increase in sodium metabisulfite prices.

Market Outlook:

Rising raw material costs for sodium metabisulfite in the domestic market were supporting prices, and it is expected that domestic market prices will likely show a volatile but generally upward trend in the short term.
