According to the business data analysis system of SunSirs, the price of color coated steel sheets remained stable last week. On January 12th, the market price of color coated steel sheets was 6,350 RMB/ton, and on January 16th, the price was also 6,350 RMB/ton. The price remained stable compared to the previous week, but decreased by 7.299% compared to the same period last year.

Market Analysis

Galvanized Steel Sheet: The price of galvanized steel sheets fell slightly last week. On Friday (November 16th), the price of galvanized steel sheets was 4,055 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.807% compared to the previous week and a decrease of 8.195% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coated steel market remained lukewarm, and market transactions were sluggish.

Market Outlook:

Last week, the supply of the five major steel product categories totaled 8.1921 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 0.062 million tons, or 0.1%; total inventory was 12.4701 million tons, a week-on-week decrease of 0.0691 million tons, or 0.6%; and apparent consumption was 8.2612 million tons, a week-on-week increase of 3.7%.

Considering the approaching off-season, most factories, despite rising costs, were maintaining their shipping volumes and keeping their quoted prices high and firm. Last week, most domestic plants operated normally, but production and sales were not yet balanced, leading to a slight increase in inventory. Therefore, coated steel sheet prices are expected to remain relatively stable in the short term.
