According to SunSirs' commodity price analysis system, domestic sodium metabisulfite prices remained stable last week. The average price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite was 2,250 RMB/ton at the beginning of the week and 2,276 RMB/ton at the end of the week, representing a price increase of 1.19%.

Market analysis

Last week, the domestic market price of industrial-grade sodium metabisulfite (96.5% purity) increased. The price of soda ash, an upstream raw material for sodium metabisulfite, remained stable, while the price of sulfur increased by 3.31%. The price of caprolactam, a downstream product, decreased by 0.82%. The continued upward trend in sulfur prices, an upstream raw material, drove the increase in sodium metabisulfite prices.

Market outlook

Domestic sodium metabisulfite costs were rising sharply, supported by favorable factors. It is expected that domestic market prices will likely show a volatile but generally upward trend in the short term.
