According to customs statistics, in November 2025, China imported 235,200 tons of ethylene, a month-on-month increase of 0.03% and a year-on-year increase of 19.57%; China exported 74.89 tons of ethylene, a month-on-month increase of 190.05% and a year-on-year decrease of 99.13%. From January to November 2025, China's cumulative ethylene imports reached 2.5867 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 32.08%; China's cumulative ethylene exports reached 15,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 79.04%.
From January to November 2025, China's ethylene imports were mainly conducted through general trade and processing trade, accounting for 82.9% and 17.1% respectively. The main sources of supply were South Korea, Japan, and Oman. Imports from South Korea totaled 1.7954 million tons, accounting for 69.41%; imports from Japan totaled 0.4831 million tons, accounting for 18.68%; and imports from Oman totaled 0.1548 million tons, accounting for 5.98%. From January to November 2025, China's ethylene exports were mainly conducted through general trade, primarily to Indonesia, Pakistan, and Taiwan. Exports to Indonesia totaled 0.073 million tons, accounting for 47.14%; exports to Pakistan totaled 0.043 million tons, accounting for 27.73%; and exports to Taiwan totaled 0.035 million tons, accounting for 22.75%.
