SunSirs: Malaysia's Natural Rubber Production and Exports Decline in November 2025

According to the Department of Statistics Malaysia on January 13, 2025, natural rubber exports in November 2025 decreased by 14.7% year-on-year to 37,150 tons, and decreased by 29.8% month-on-month. 50.8% of exports went to China, followed by Germany (15.1%), the UAE (12.5%), the United States (5.7%), and Turkey (2.2%).

Malaysia's natural rubber imports in November totaled 63,502 tons, a decrease of 38.7% year-on-year and 6% month-on-month. Standard rubber, concentrated latex, and other forms of natural rubber were the main import categories, with the main sources being Thailand, Côte d'Ivoire, the Philippines, and Myanmar.

Total monitored natural rubber production in November was 20,891 tons, a decrease of 48.2% year-on-year and 29.6% month-on-month. Smallholder plantations accounted for 83.3% of production, while state-owned plantations accounted for 16.7%.

Malaysia's natural rubber inventory in November was 120,208 tons, a decrease of 17.3% month-on-month and 27.3% year-on-year. 76.7% of the inventory was held by rubber processors, 23.1% by downstream end-users, and 0.1% by large plantation owners.

Domestic natural rubber consumption in November increased by 14.9% year-on-year to 25,620 tons, and increased by 2.9% month-on-month. The latex glove industry remained the main consumer of natural rubber in Malaysia, accounting for 67.4% of consumption, followed by tires and tubes (8.4%), rubber threads (11.5%), and other industries such as rubber footwear (12.7%).
