According to SunSirs' commodity price analysis system, the price of color coated steel sheets remained stable last week. On December 22nd, the market price of color coated steel sheets was 6,350 RMB/ton, and on December 26th, the price was also 6,350 RMB/ton. The price remained stable compared to the previous week and decreased by 7.29% compared to the same period last year.

Market Analysis

Galvanized Steel Sheet: Last week, the price of galvanized steel sheets experienced a slight decline. On Friday (December 26th), the price of galvanized steel sheets was 4,088 RMB/ton, a decrease of 0.462% compared to the previous week and a decrease of 6.92% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand in the coated steel market remained lukewarm, resulting in weak market transactions.

Market Outlook:

Last week, the supply of the five major steel product categories totaled 7.9682 million tons, a decrease of 0.1% week-on-week. Total inventory of the five major steel products was 12.5799 million tons, a decrease of 2.8% week-on-week. Weekly consumption of the five major product categories was 8.3361 million tons, with construction materials consumption decreasing by 3.2% week-on-week and plate consumption increasing by 1.4% week-on-week.

Considering the approaching off-season, although most factories were facing continuously rising costs, they were maintaining their shipping volumes and keeping their quoted prices firm at high levels. Last week, most domestic plants were operating normally, but production and sales were not yet balanced, resulting in a slight increase in inventory. Therefore, coated steel sheet prices are expected to remain relatively stable in the short term.
