AgRural has raised its estimate for Brazil's 2025/26 soybean production to 180.4 million tons, an increase of 1.9 million tons from its November forecast. As the world's largest soybean producer and exporter, Brazil's production in the previous season was 171.5 million tons.

This upward revision is primarily based on generally favorable weather conditions in December, which provided a good start for crop growth.

The agency also emphasized that uncertainty remains regarding final yield levels for most of the planted area.

The size of the future harvest will depend heavily on weather conditions in January, February, and in some regions, the first half of March of next year.

Currently, Brazilian farmers have begun harvesting the new soybean crop in parts of Paraná and Mato Grosso states.

Harvesting is expected to continue in these regions in the coming days, but more widespread and substantial harvesting progress is anticipated in January of next year, provided weather conditions permit.
