SunSirs: Bromine Prices Remain Strong and Firm on December 23rd
December 23 2025 16:03:52SunSirs(John)

Price trend

According to SunSirs' commodity price analysis system, the price of bromine has increased. On December 23rd, the average market price is 35,400 RMB/ton, a 61.64% increase compared to the same period last year.

On December 22nd, SunSirs’ bromine index was 122.60 points, an increase of 0.85 points from the previous day, a decrease of 50.00% from the highest point of 245.18 points (October 27, 2021) within the cycle, and an increase of 108.08% from the lowest point of 58.92 points on October 29, 2014. (Note: The cycle refers to the period from September 1, 2011 to the present).

Market Analysis

Bromine prices in the Shandong region remain firm. The spot ex-factory price in Shandong is approximately 35,000-37,000 RMB/ton, with the mainstream transaction price currently around 35,500 RMB/ton. In terms of supply: bromine prices are significantly affected by seasonal temperatures, and the overall operating rate of the industry has been insufficient since the onset of winter, resulting in continued low supply. Furthermore, bromine production is also limited due to industry policies. In terms of demand: however, demand from downstream industries is average, with purchases continuing to be based on essential needs. Downstream companies are showing only moderate purchasing enthusiasm.

Regarding raw materials: Domestic sulfur prices remain generally firm, with the average market price on December 23rd being 3,627.67 RMB/ton, an increase of 111.67% compared to the same period last year. Downstream demand remains satisfactory.

Market Outlook:

The price of bromine has been firm recently, supported by strong upstream sulfur prices. Bromine supply is currently tight, but downstream buyers are mostly purchasing on an as-needed basis and are resistant to price increases. Considering the supply and demand dynamics, bromine prices are expected to have some further upward potential, depending on downstream market demand.
